Sea 2 Sky 10k

Born 2 Run events continue to get more popular, and this year’s 10k in Newcastle attracted nearly 500 runners eager to take in the superb scenery. While its a popular event that draws in mostly non-club runners, its also a difficult course with a tough climb through Slieve Donard Forest Park before back down to the promenade for medals and refreshments.

8 OAC athletes made the journey down and ran well in warm conditions.

Up against some fairly experienced local mountain runners Paul Tyro finished 11th with a time of 40m29s. Andy McIntyre finished shortly behind in 42m42s. Lyndsey Pronger was 2nd lady with a time of 45m04s. Other times were:

John Neill 49m22s
Jill Holland 53m31s
Lisa Fleming 56m32s
Melinda Wilkinson 59m49s
Catherine Fearon 1h03m

The next Born2Run event on the calendar is the Dambusters 10k & Half Marathon which should draw in big numbers, in part due to it being part of the NI Half Marathon Series
