Weekly Report – 20th May-26th May 2024
Ballyclare Mayfair 10k
The main event last weekend for our runners was the Ballyclare Mayfair 10k, the latest instalment of our club championship series. This was an undulating course with many steep ascents and downhills so no surprise that there aren’t any PB points being handed out this time. To make up for the difficulty of the course County Antrim Harriers fortunately provided a literal feast for the runners at the end.
Congratulations to everyone who was running, especially to Edwina Ternan and Danny Bradley who both achieved age category wins in their respective F35 and M35 categories. Big shout out to Michael O’Donoghue who broke his hand half way through the race but still managed to put in a decent time all the same, incredible fortitude – motivated to finish by the post-race treats I’m sure. Parkrun Report
25/05/2024
As usual there was some parkrun tourism at the weekend with five of us visiting new locations; Keith Weir at Rostrevor, Jean Stone at Larne, Simon Cordoba and Martina Saravia at Bangor, and Ian Wilson ticking off his 52nd location at the new parkrun in Ballymena – The Fisherman’s Walk.
Our parkrun highlight this weekend was definitely Keith Weir finishing in first place in Rostrevor with a time of 19.40. That’s back to back first place finishes for Keith after doing the same in Derry City last weekend.
Well done everyone!
