Weekly Report – 22nd January-28th January 2024
Run Forest Run – Antrim Castle Gardens 10k
Another weekend, another Run Forest Run 10k for Emily Paisley.
This race goes from the grounds of the 400 year old gardens, with the 10k route taking in the ruins of Shane’s Castle (a Game of Thrones venue) and some fantastic views of Lough Neagh before returning through the gardens and woods.
Well done Emily, enjoy the couple of weeks of break before the final 10k in the series in Castlewellan.
Emily Paisley – 54.27
NI & Ulster Intermediate and Masters Cross Country 2024
It was a wild windy day on Sunday as the NI & Ulster Intermediate and Masters Cross Country was taking place at Billy Neill Country Park, but still where else would Brian Todd rather be. Well done Brian, with the amount of XC races you’re doing the next road race will be a breeze!
Brian Todd – 21.23
Parkrun Report
27/01/2024
That’s two weeks in a row where the only OACers racing were Emily Paisley and Brian Todd – obviously everyone is tapering for the Stormont Cross-Country race that’s coming up…
It was a good week for parkrun tourism though with five of us trying out new locations for the first time. Reg Sanlon at Portrush, Anne Devlin at Omagh, Ian Wilson and Mairead Napier at Ardgillan, and Jean Stone at Garvagh Forest. Ian Wilson leads the way out of these folks with Ardgillan being his 47th unique location.
This weekend’s parkrun highlight was at Stormont where Andrew Carson finished in 2nd place, and got a new Stormont parkrun PB with a time of 18.58. Not bad, the coveted first place finish at parkrun remains elusive though!
Great running everyone!
