East Antrim Marathon Series – World Marathon Day – 10k
On a sunny Armagh day Elaine Weston claimed the top spot in the 10k. Amazing running Elaine and another great medal for your ever-growing collection – this one showing one of the Armagh Obelisks apparently. Well done!
Fitzers 5k
Brian Todd was representing Orangegrove in the Fitzers 5k in Dundalk. This is the 11th year of the event, which is raising money in aid of Maria Goretti Children’s Respite and RehabCare Dundalk Centre. Brian took advantage of it being a flat and fast 5k running a time of 23.08. Great running Brian!
Brian Todd – 23.08
Battersea Park 10k
Andrew Carson made the trip to London to take part in the Battersea Park 10k on Saturday. It’s a very flat course making for a fast run and perfect for a PB attempt. It wasn’t a PB this time but they hold numerous 10k races in the park all year round so get your flights booked for the next one.
Andrew Carson – 36.59
Parkrun Report
24/02/2024
Another good weekend for parkrun tourism as five of us were trying out new locations on Saturday; Verity Cornford at Falls, Danny Bradley at Crane Park, Jean Stone at MUSA Cookstown, Keith Weir at Dunleath Playing Fields and Ian Wilson at Deerpark Forest, Virginia (in Cavan) which is his 49th unique location.
Two of us came in as first place finishers this week, Keith Weir and Gemma Blake. I’m beginning to be tempted to copy and paste the relevant section from the previous report as this is Gemma’s fifth time in a row finishing as first female finisher at Stormont parkrun! This was also a new PB for Gemma at Stormont with a time of 20.17
Great running everybody!
