Mathieson Cup Cross-Country

The big event this weekend was the Mathieson Cup XC in Mallusk, and there was a great turnout from OAC. Conditions didn’t look too bad for a cross-country! Everyone is looking surprisingly comfortable in the photos, well maybe everyone apart from Robin Montgomery who possibly had a few too many beers on his birthday the night before. Well done everyone, fantastic running!

Parkrun Report

13/01/2024

Lots of parkrun tourism at the weekend with Keith Weir at Wallace – Lisburn, Emily Paisley at Larne, Cameron Faulkner at Bangor, Ian Wilson at Cootehill, and Verity Cornford and Michael O’Donoghue having their “tourism mini adventure” at Fairview in Dublin. That’s Michael up to 89 parkrun locations now! Him and Verity needed to get a 6.50am train to make Fairview though so surely he’s at the limit of how far he’s willing to travel – only time will tell.

Elsewhere, the parkrun highlight was Danny Bradley finishing in first place at Valley parkrun with a time of 18.43. He has a great record there, finishing 1st in 4 of the 7 parkruns he’s taken part in there – if anyone has a better percentage record at any parkrun I’d love to hear it.
