Weekly Report – 20th November-26th November 2023

Malcolm Cup XC

The big event from the weekend was the Malcolm Cup cross-country at Queens Dub Playing Fields. It’s a flatter course than the recent races at Billy Neill, so hopefully it was muddy enough to make sure those taking part didn’t feel like they’d missed out. Well done to everyone taking part, and big thanks to Robin Montgomery for the gazebo and to Catherine McIntyre, Chris Woods and Gemma Blake for the photographs.

Born 2 Run – Run Forest Run Series – Gosford 10k

Michael O’Donoghue and Emily Paisley were representing Orangegrove AC in the first race of this year’s Run Forest Run series. Gosford Forest Park’s course is a mixture of road and forest track taking runners through dense woodland and past Gosford Castle which was featured in Game of Thrones. Well done to you both.

Parkrun Report

25/11/23

The big news this week was a couple of our members running their fastest ever parkruns – Sam Rainey in 19.17 and Andrew Carson in 17.38, both at Victoria Park (of course). Well done to you both.

Three OACers were doing some parkrun tourism, Elaine Bates and Ian Wilson both trying new parkrun locations in Scotland (St Andrews and Portobello, Edinburgh) and Jean Stone was doing a new location closer to home (Citypark, Craigavon). Ian Wilson has the most locations out of these folks on 44.
