Run in the Dark 5k

Run in the Dark is a global event, hosting races in 50+ cities one day a year with all fundraising going to their charity partner Collaborative Cures. Big congratulations to Gemma Blake on being first female finisher at the Run in the Dark 5k at Stormont. The time of 20.48 is great going on that course, well done!

Comber Cup XC

Another race in the Athletics NI Cross Country League took place at Billy Neill Playing Fields on Saturday. These events continue to get more and more popular (for some reason) with around 600 athletes in total taking part in what looked like an extremely tough and muddy race. Well done to all the Orangegrovers taking part in this one, another great turn out for the club. Thanks to Judith McCann for her great pictures of the men’s race.

Run the Line

Sarah Steer and Andrew Tees were taking part in Run The Line on Saturday. This is a fundraising event for Dublin Wicklow Mountain Race Team consisting of two separate races (13km and 26km) across the Dublin Mountains, starting and finishing in Glencullen Adventure Park, and taking in many spectacular locations along the way offering breath-taking views of Dublin. Well done to you both, and congrats to Andy who finished in 3rd place in the 26km race.

Parkrun Report

18/11/23

There were four OACers trying out new parkrun locations on Saturday. Emily Paisley visited Colin Glen for the first time while Jean Stone made the trip to Sixmilewater and Ian Wilson and Mairead Napier attended Monaghan Town for the first time. Ian Wilson leads the way out of these folks with Monaghan Town being his 43rd unique parkrun location.
