Hill & Dale Series – Rocky

Only one race to report on from last week as the Hill & Dale Series returned on Thursday night. It was a race record as 268 runners took part in race number 5 of the series so far. This race is formally known as Rocky but in addition competitors have to take on the summits of Tornamrock (the Badger’s Tower), Pierce’s Castle and Altataggart (the hill of the priest). Well done to the OAC crew running the unforgiving and rugged course – only half of the series left to go!

Sarah Steer – 56.19
Kerris Hamilton – 1.01.51
Emily Paisley – 1.04.09
Sharon Howe – 1.08.28

Parkrun Report

20/05/23

Three personal bests achieved this weekend for Orangegrove. Elaine Weston ran her fastest ever Comber parkrun with a time of 25.08 – great work off the back of first female finisher at Falls last weekend! Colin Simpson also ran his fastest Orangefield parkrun with a time of 22.35 – obviously that training camp in Milan last week did the trick! Saving the best for last, Kimberley Reynolds ran her fastest parkrun ever with a time of 22.45. Congrats to you all on some great running.

Fastest Orangegrove parkrun this week goes to Andrew McIntyre with a time of 18.09. Andrew and Catherine McIntyre were at Limepark Playing Fields doing a new location (their 40th and 38th location respectively). Andy’s time was only 3 seconds off the first finisher – you’ll have to go back next week and actually try.

Big congratulations to Gillian McGucken on her 100th parkrun also. Gillian’s best time was in 2019 when she ran a 21.26 parkrun in Victoria Park – with an age grade score of 69.98% – and her best ever position was in 2016 at Colin Glen when she finished 5th with a time of 23.28. Well done Gillian on reaching the 100 milestone. I heard that there was cake for you at Victoria Park as well, which may partially explain the big OAC turnout there on Saturday.
