EAH Trail Series Race 3 – Tardree Forest

We have been keen followers of the East Antrim series of forest races so far. This one in Tardree Forest near Antrim was relatively hilly and short at 3.3 miles. There were 100 competing and 12 OAC athletes made it down on the day, two thirds of whom had also been running at the Mourne Way Series at the weekend. Considering the distance it would have made an ideal recovery run for those doing 10k and Half Marathons in the Mournes or an indication of addiction to trail runs!

First to finish was Joe Craney in 20m40s then Andy McIntyre in 21m52s. Brian Todd finished in 23m48s along with Ian Grant in 23m53s. Louise Lemon, who won this race last year, was first OAC lady home in 24m33s and 3rd overall. Remaining results were:

Jill Holland 27.37
Sharon Dickenson 28.21
Lisa Fleming 29.10
Sharon Corken 29.26
Sarah Steer 29.44
Melinda Wilkinson 31.58
Catherine Fearon 33.22

With 1 race to go in the series, OAC are doing well in the series rankings. Louise Lemon, Jill Holland and Hugh Young are leading their age categories, Sharon Dickenson is currently 2nd and Brian Todd 3rd. Joe Craney is 4th in the MO category. Great work everyone!
