Les Jones Memorial 10k

16th May

On a sunny Friday evening 3 of our fastest ladies along with another couple of hundred local athletes made it down to the Mary Peters track for this annual 10k race. This race is known for its unforgiving hill which increases nearly everyone’s times well above what they would manage on a flat 10k. However, the OAC ladies were in such good form that the warm conditions and terrain didn’t faze them much.

Jenny Black got 3rd place in the ladies race and beat the ladies 10k club record by over 40 seconds with a time of 39m50s, Lyndsey Pronger finished in 43m31s which was enough to secure 2nd place in the FO age category. Emma McWilliams finished with a great time of 48m03s.
