Weekly Report – 3-4th April 2022

The club has been training hard over the winter period and at the weekend we got to put that training to good use in some local races and further afield.In the East Antrim Marathon Series Knockagh Challenge event Cameron Faulkner and Michael O’Donoghue completed 3 laps of Greenisland including climbing the summit of Knockagh Hill 3 times to complete an event distance of 31 miles and 2600 feet of climbing, finishing 7th and 8th in the process.

The main event of the weekend was the 3rd race in this years Club Championship, the Titanic Quarter 10k. We got almost perfect weather conditions for the event and got some amazing times. Coach Danny Bradley was first to finish from the club, coming 7th overall in the race and getting a new 10k club record of 33.34. Stephen Anderson scored a well deserved PB and Kimberley Reynolds got top points in the graded club championship and did well in the category rankings of the race. Looking forward to the next race in the championship, the naked parkrun.

In Berlin, Brian Todd braced wintery conditions in the Half Marathon and finished with a great time of 1:44.Well done everyone!
