Lisburn 10k & Half Marathon

Very warm conditions with temperatures approaching the high 20’s didn’t dampen the turnout for these events in Lisburn City, and there was still a reasonable turnout from the club for both. The 2 events are distinct challenges, with the 10k offering a flat and fast course, while the Half Marathon incorporates the 10k and adds several tough hills in the second half.

In the 10k event Paul Tyro got a decent sub 40 time of 38m52s. Lyndsey Pronger was second from the club to finish at 43m08s. Then recent recruit Paul Gruhn finsihed at 49m14s.

Verity Cornford and Victoria Murray finished together at 57m52s.

In the Half Marathon event Andy McIntyre demonstrated his consistently strong performance regardless of the conditions with an excellent time of 1h33m31s.

There was a measure of solidarity amongst the remaining OAC runners in the half event with Paul Edgar, Darren Moffett, Eleanor Acheson and Catherine Fearon all finishing just after the 2h16m mark. Darren Moffett and Paul Edgar are getting through the Half Marathon series rightly, and we can expect them and several other OAC runners to be present for the next event in Ards later in the month.
